He stated that they are peaceful and reasonable, but he is very worried something bad might happen. He asked Mayor and Council to please take it seriously. Mayor Norton stated that this is taken very seriously, and bringing this to their attention is the best way to make sure all are informed and aware. 12. Ward and Staff Reports Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr. – Announced the Inaugural Juneteenth Festival being held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 starting at 5:00 PM. It is a family-friendly event. He expressed the Mayor and Council for commemorating Juneteenth. Mayor Pro Tem Tim Gould – Congratulated the state champions that were present again. Councilmember Travis Lindley – Thanked first responders and public works staff for cleaning up after the storm two weekends ago. He also officially welcomed Mike Jones back to Smyrna. Mayor Derek Norton – This past weekend he and his family had a special moment when the Smyrna 8u Smyrna All-Stars won the championship down in Warner- Robins. 13. Adjournment Mayor Derek Norton adjourned the June 16, 2025 Mayor and Council meeting at 8:01 PM. Facilities are provided throughout City Hall for the convenience of persons with disabilities.
