2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the June 15, 2026 Pre-Council Meeting held at A. Max
Bacon City Hall in the Admin Conference Room at 6:30 PM.
3. Review of Current M&C Agenda
PRE2026-020 Review of the June 15, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting Notice and Agenda
Mayor Derek Norton reviewed the June 15, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting agenda with
council. No discussion took place.
Mike Jones, City Administrator, updated Mayor and Council on the following:
• Cup Daze tent – it will be used for Juneteenth. For the next concert, they are trying
to determine logistics for stage placement, screens, etc.
• The Cup Daze viewings have been very well-attended. They anticipate there will
be a huge number of people at the next game (USA vs. Australia) prior to the
Juneteenth Festival.
• He updated Mayor and Council on a tragic loss of a family member of a current
employee.
• GA Power building – under design. Staff could be moved over by March. Late
summer is likely when a bid for construction will be put out.
Mayor Pro Tem / Councilmember Gould said the Pride Festival was great.
