P A G E 0 3 Arrests: 38 Traffic Stops: 510 Citations: 301 Warnings: 257 Service Calls: 1,118 WEEKLY POLICE TOTALS POLICE DEPARTMENT On Tuesday, December 16, Detective Taylor Elliott was honored at the Cobb County Law Enforcement Association luncheon for his outstanding investigative work. After noticing trends in thefts at the Smyrna Ulta location, Detective Elliott successfully linked these incidents to a larger, multi-state retail theft ring. What began as a single theft investigation ultimately led to a RICO case involving federal investigators. In addition, Detective Elliott initiated an investigation into vehicle thefts and recovered six stolen Mercedes from within Smyrna, totaling more than $1 million in recovered property. Thank you, Detective Elliott, for your dedication to serving and protecting our community, and congratulations on this well-deserved honor. RECOGNIZING DETECTIVE ELLIOT On Wednesday, December 17, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Mayor of the Day, Mayor Jackson. During the visit, Mayor Jackson toured the Police Department, explored its various divisions, and learned about the department’s day-to-day functions. Mayor Jackson especially enjoyed visiting the Real-Time Crime Center and spending time in the 911 Communications Center. We were honored to host Mayor Jackson, who asked thoughtful questions and took the time to meet our Chief, command staff members, and officers. MAYOR OF THE DAY On Wednesday, December 17, our officers, along with the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation, hosted Lunch with a Hero at Campbell Middle School. Students had the opportunity to shop for their families, wrap gifts, enjoy lunch, and play games alongside our officers. It was a wonderful experience connecting with the students and staff at Campbell Middle School and sharing an afternoon filled with generosity, laughter, and community spirit.
