April 07, 2025 6:30 PM City of Smyrna Mayor and Council Meeting 2800 King Street SE Administration Conference Room Page 2 of 2 ATH2025-060: Kristin Robinson, Deputy City Administrator, explained that the third lowest bidder was chosen because of issues with the other two bidders. Mayor Norton asked her to explain that during the regular Mayor and Council meeting. ATH2025-060: Mayor Norton explained that Kelly Maxwell of Coastal State Bank has approached the Mayor and Councilmember Lindley about moving a small account that was held at her previous bank to Coastal State Bank. Councilmember Welch expressed concern that this did not go through the traditional selection process. Councilmember Lindley stated that funds should be spread around, especially because of an established relationship with someone who does much for the community. Mayor Norton stated that these funds and the use of these funds along with conversations with the City Attorney do not fall under the requirements for a selection process. 6. Other Business / Staff Comment Councilmember Glenn Pickens: Town Hall with Montclair tomorrow through Zoom. Councilmember Susan Wilkinson: Received phone calls about roll-away trash cans. This will be addressed at a future meeting. Councilmember Latonia P. Hines: Pop-up legal clinic on May 3. Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr.: Mother’s Days weekend 14 artists will paint 14 hydrants throughout the city ARTery. Councilmember Charles Welch: KSB clean up this weekend. Mayor Pro Tem Tim Gould: City will be recognized by the Cobb Landmark Preservation for the city’s efforts in recognizing Fanny Williams. 7. Executive Session (As Needed) 8. Adjournment Mayor Derek Norton adjourned the April 7, 2025 Pre-Council Meeting at 6:54 PM.
