2. Call to Order
The March 28, 2025 Smyrna Public Art Committee held at A. Max Bacon City Hall in the HR
Training Room was called to order at 11:46 AM.
3. Chairperson Instruction and Comment
Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr. welcomed everyone to the meeting. He stated that he has made contact
with Campbell High School and they want to be involved in Public Art in the future.
4. Formal Business
A. 2025-158 Review of Fire Hydrant RFQ Submissions
Various committee members said that they gravitated towards the bright and colorful
design submissions.
Burke Scott said that he thinks that most of them appeal to a younger crowd. Rickey N.
Oglesby, Jr. stated that he expected to see more vibrant designs.
Anna Talarico virtually presented the committee with their ranked fire hydrant
submissions. She stated that the goal is to get to 14 fire hydrants, and the committee gets
to decide what that looks like. The scores are just the baseline where the committee
wants to take their decision making. She explained that it is important to have a process to
fall back on and thanked everyone for participating in the independent review.
