Come on up and lead us in the uh invocation pledge. Everybody please rise. Let's all bow our heads and pray or you can stand in any way that you feel comfortable doing so as we pray. But Father, we come before you right now and we just uh thank you for bringing us all here. We we thank you for the city of Smyrna. We acknowledge that Smyrna itself as a city and all the people who are here are yours. We acknowledge the fact that about 150 to 200 years ago or so, there was a movement of your Holy Spirit that brought people here to gather here together to hear preaching from a Methodist pastor and then eventually decided we want to make this place home. And so that is why they called it Smyrna as well, just being one of the couple churches in Revelation uh that were faithful to you. And so we thank you for that. And Lord, we pray that you would do something very similar here in our city, in our midst even today. Lord, we know that you are powerful enough to do that. There there's so much potential here. There's so much opportunity that exists here and we would just ask that you would lead and guide all of it. We thank you that you are already here in our midst as well. We thank you that you see us. We thank you that you know us and we thank you that in seeing us and in knowing us you also love us. And so Lord we ask that you would help us to see one another. We ask that you would help us to sacrificially serve one another in all the different ways that you have called us to be here in this city.

And we pray that you'd give all of us wisdom, discernment, kindness, grace to see one another, to love one another, and to do so for your glory. And I know that not everybody here would everybody here believes something that is unique and different to themselves. But for those of us, Lord, who will pray in the name of Jesus, we do that now. Amen. Let's stand and turn and say the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Amen. Thank you, pastor, for being with us tonight. Appreciate you. We don't have any agenda changes tonight. Um, next on the agenda is the mayoral report. And um, I just have a couple of things before we get into our recognition. One group that one thing I know is that our youth sports in the city of Smyrna is awesome right now. We also have gymnastics state champions. We've got volleyball state champions. We had baseball state champions. We've got track state champions. We've got basketball state champions. And probably some that I'm missing. So, I'm super excited about all that we're doing, all the youth sports in the city of Smyrna. And I really feel like it's important to recognize the achievements of everybody as they as they are are so successful in everything they're doing. So, we we will continue to do that at each council meeting uh as as these state championships for Smyrna just keep rolling in. It's pretty awesome. Uh and I need to mention Whitfield was run runner up at state which is pretty awesome too in the soccer uh tournament. Um couple of project updates for me. Uh Talison Pool, I know a lot of you all are interested in what's going on over there. They are clearing the debris from the demolition and you'll start seeing activity over there and grading and and getting that site ready for um the awesome new aquatics complex that will be coming to y'all uh early in 27. Uh Ward 7 splash pad, if you've been down to Riverline Park, uh that's underway and uh is making a lot of progress. I think we're somewhere towards the end of the year on on the completion date for that. Uh if you've seen the fencing and activity downtown, uh we are expanding the splash pad, uh putting in a bathroom and then a little kids um playground there. And so that in the next next few weeks, uh that should be nearing completion uh for y'all to enjoy. And I'm excited about that. We've uh had our sports LED lighting. If you all been to our our parks um with Jonquil at Brinkley um Kachchuck Camp all of them they're replacing the old lighting with LED lighting and that's been a good thing for us and it will save a lot of energy over time.
