All right, we move now to the citizen participation uh portion of our meeting. Doesn't look like we got anybody left for public comment. Is uh gentlemen, anything you want to say? All right, so we don't we'll go on to ward and staff reports. We'll start tonight, Mr. Glenn Pickkins. Thank you, Mayor. I just like to thank uh Rebuilding Together Atlanta and uh Patterson real estate advisors for another very successful project this past week. They worked on a lady's house and did uh yard work um and it made a huge transformation just a bunch of pruning work and cleaning it up for code enforcement violations and then later on there she's going to get a uh chairlift added with our grand dollars. So it's money well spent and it makes a big difference for the community. So thank you and a special thank you to Mr. Pickkins for his efforts with the Campbell Middle School site that we're putting a lot of resources into to make it a premier um recreational facility and doing the outreach to the neighbors. I know you've got some things planned or or maybe not maybe not set in stone yet, but um going to be meeting with the residents to make sure that their needs are met and um uh their their input is had for to make it the best we can do. So, thanks for your thanks for your focus on that and your efforts there. I would add that Councilman Pick is is setting up a public outreach. So, we'll be uh coming out with more information about that. He's requested that uh we bring our consultants out and have the public have the ability to comment on on the plans going forward. The best projects that we do in Smyrna are those that are done with uh the most community input. So, thanks for spearheading that, Miss Hines.

Thank you, Mayor. Um I want to give a shout out to our parks and wreck department. We have the best parks and recck department in the state. Um and award-winning as a matter of fact and uh they did a great job. Uh they help host with um Cobb Travel and Tourism the Juggling event um that they set records with and also our first concert and if you haven't gotten a chance to look at it um they have a wonderful shirt that they are selling um for cup days in acknowledgement of it. So City of Smyrna's parks and rug has some great merch out there. So, make sure you are partaking of it and um looking at it. And then also, I just want to um thank all of the leaders who came out for the Cobb Municipal Association meeting. We had a public safety meeting in every police chief of all of the uh municipalities and then the police chief of Cobb County and uh the one of the chiefs of the Cobb Sheriff's Office were there for that um meeting and they discussed uh the public safety efforts and collaboration for FIFA. Um it is a huge undertaking. So, be very thankful to our law enforcement because in addition to keeping us safe, they are also being um out there and being responsive if there's any events um that may need their help down there uh dealing with the FIFA World Cup and also they talked a little bit about team team takeovers and things. So, we are very very lucky to have that collaboration work here in the city of Smyrna and in the county. Thank you, Miss Hines. Mr. Welch, thank you. Uh Somebody's already mentioned the concert from last weekend and I was not able to attend but I gave my my tickets to or my table to a co-orker of mine who came and raved about Smyrna downtown.

Um I wanted to give a shout out to the park parks and recck department as well. Um the event that the city had with the COB travel and tourism for the uh juggling of the soccer balls was amazing and um hope hopefully um many of you got out there to u see it. But it was uh to see those uh guys that they had there and uh how talented they were with juggling that ball was amazing. Um so and I want I just want to make sure we thank our staff for all the work that they've done to make that event happen. And the other thing I also want to um shout out to the re the relationship the city has with rebuilding together Atlanta. Um I first met those uh that team of people back in 2019 and um was you know very uh grateful that they work have been able to work out that relationship with the city. that really has uh helped a lot of citizens all over the um city um and to help them to be able to stay in their homes and age in their homes and um and anyway it's just helped a a whole lot and um with that I yield Mr. Jones it was awesome enough that Mr. Chicago participated in the juggling, but I just couldn't believe that he had it in him to juggle the the soccer ball for that long.

What this search can tell you

Coverage is incomplete. This collection tracks 118 meetings. 39 have searchable transcripts and 72 have searchable minutes; a meeting may have both. 10 currently have neither. A missing passage is not evidence that a topic was never discussed.

Speech and summaries stay distinct. Transcript passages preserve the available transcript text. Minutes are labeled as summaries, not spoken quotations. Speaker identities are shown only where the source or documented attribution supports them; an unattributed speaker remains unattributed.

Relevance does not establish a connection. Topic search uses meaning and words to help you locate passages. Read adjacent passages, follow the source and inspect any agenda context before drawing a conclusion about an official’s position or a decision.
