You know, there's so many things going on with Smyrna. So, I just wanted to let you guys know just of another voice and you know, care for our neighbors. Thank you. Um, hey, for contact information, Mr. Trailer. Um, Pearson, do we have your contact information? You could do that, please. Yeah. Mayor, can Jennifer, you're gonna you're going to reach out to to Glenn, right? And Okay, I think we have everybody. Miss Blelock, do we have your contact information? Mayor, is that then? I think some council members like to couple comments and just questions as as well. Have you have you guys experienced this recently again? Is this the first time? This is the first time that you've experienced this. Okay. Okay. Um, and I can speak as being a prosecutor, right? So, I deal with cases that come up um and how this goes and just balancing, right, between what's going on with you. I would be absolutely mortified if I have shots coming through. The first thing you're going to do is call 911. That's that's what you do. And I I I am concerned that you had that response from 911. I don't know what that is, but there's a way to be able to get a a copy of 911 reports and see, you know, the response times, right? Sometimes it may seem like a longer time than what it really is when you look at it, but you never know. But 20 minutes seems like a long time. But I also balance the same time with our PD knowing that they have to be multiple places. You've got Lieutenant Hansen who's here who himself has put his life on the line and has last year was shot in the process of responding to a situation. I I look at also there are times when they're responding and you may not understand.

And so, you can always reach out to him. And then there are people within like the DA's office or the solicitor's office and we can make sure you have those numbers that if you want to be able to call and say, "Hey, I I'm one of the neighbors who was out there and I'm just wondering what's happening with this case." They should be able to tell you to a certain degree. Or you can even go on the clerk's office site to see what's happening with the case. Yes. And I let me make sure I clarify for our city clerk. That would be the Cobb County clerk's office. And if it's Yeah. And and and a major defense will be able to tell you whether or not if it's a misdemeanor, then it's going to be the state court clerk's office. If it's a felony, then it's going to be the um uh superior court. And it sounds like from what we're hearing, this probably would be something that would go to the DA's office, the district attorney's office that deals with felonies. Thank you, Miss Hines. Appreciate that. Um, next on the agenda. All right, last public comment. Go ahead, sir. Sorry to share my experience. Sorry again, I didn't know how to register and talk about that. So, I'm the neighbor from the Woodbury Town House. Could you say name and name and address, please? Um, yeah, Vin. My name is Vine Dharawat and I'm at 2732 Bell Drive. Um so as many of them told is the same incident. So but how like so I'm non-immigrant worker. I came from India to I have never experienced this kind of issue. My family is totally terrified now. So we have a 4month old baby and uh so I woke up and it's like 2:30. I mean I've never I didn't sleep.

Um, if you take the time to drive north on Atlanta Road from here, about 1.5 miles north of this gas station property, there are three of these same things. Um, they're awful. There's people hanging out outside of them. and they're filled with like drug paraphernalia selections, um, gambling machines. A lot of the food marts on the side sit empty. Um, it's just I really hate to see something like the fourth one coming in this little bit of stretch of road here. Um, in addition, there's uh on the site plan there is an entrance for this gas station that comes onto my street on Daniel Drive. U, there's not a lot of room right here. Um, so we're concerned for the safety of this of this access point. Um, I did speak with Rusty and Mark and he they said that someone is making an exception for this for this access point on our neighborhood. Um, from what I understand, it doesn't meet the the distance requirements per DOT. Um, and we learned that because a gas station was proposed on the adjacent corner, which is the county side. Um, and that access has been denied there for any proposed developments. Um, so you just try to imagine like coming off Atlanta Road and no one's going to use it just as a right exit. They're going to come in and out right there. The entrance for Daniel Drive is on an incline. It's not great the way it is. Um, so I just wanted to come and advocate for my neighborhood and for the city and, you know, hopefully it might make a difference. I don't know. Um, but thank you so much for your time. I don't get to see you guys all in one place all the time. Thank you for your Thank you for your time. I appreciate it. Waiting tonight.

The initial phase of this project will require installing stormwater pipe across Collier Drive between 1493 Collier Drive and 3200 Collier Gate Court. 3. Staff M&C Agenda Items to Review ATH2025-146: Jodi Mills, Recreation Services Manager, explained as the demands on the front desk at the Aline Wolfe Active Adult Center and Pool increase, it is necessary to have a full-time Customer Service Receptionist. With one part-time receptionist retiring in August and another one retiring in December, this is the perfect time to reclassify this position. This reclassification will not increase the current FY26 personnel budget but rather will decrease the FY26 personnel budget by $2398.00. She also announced that the Kids Handmade Market is this Saturday with an additional 50 vendors. ATH2025-141: Brian Marcos, Fire Department Chief, explained that Smyrna Truck 1 - 3098 (2014 Pierce Impel Aerial) is approaching the end of its service life and is scheduled to be replaced in FY26. The apparatus will be built and shipped from the manufacturer approximately 40 – 43 months after the order is received. The replacement schedule will need to be revisited. Councilmember Welch asked about an accident at Concord Rd. and Atlanta Rd. He mentioned there was a smaller rescue vehicle, panel rescue vehicle, and a fire truck with another truck. He wondered how it is decided how many respond to an accident. Chief Marcos stated any number of factors are used to decide who responds to an accident from health concerns - cardiac arrest, administered drugs – to communications and traffic safety, safety of personnel on scene, and safety of those involved in the accident.

Thank you very much. Go on now to item C, zoning request Z25- Z009 at Benson Pool Road. Mr. Jones, any background before we turn it over to Joey? No, sir. Defer comments to our city planner, Mr. Sts. Good evening. I'm Joey Stabs, planner 2 with community development. This applicant is Alejandra Sanchez. It went to the PNZ board on August 11th and they recommended approval 70. The subject property is 2351 Benson Pool Road. It's about an acre. Um there's an existing 1,800 square foot building on the property. They're not planning to redevelop the property. They just want to change the zoning from office distribution to general commercial. As you can see, all the red around it is general commercial. Um the property below it is office distribution. There's nothing that's happening with that property with this resoning. And the other big property is a Georgia Power Substation. The future land use is mixed juice. That will remain mixed juice. Here's a picture of the subject property overhead. Uh, and then the building that's on the property and some adjacent properties. Staff is recommending approval of the reszoning from OD to GC with the following conditions. One, the following uses will be prohibited. Automobile broker office, auto parts attire stores, automobile repair, major and minor. Automobile and truck sales and service, automobile wash services, drive-thru restaurants, motorcycle sales and service, package stores, service stations, hookah bars, vape shops, parking of commercial vehicles, impromptu weekend markets and adult uses. Number two, um these are conditional. So, event facilities shall only operate between the hours of 8 am and 10 p.m. Restaurants shall only operate between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 10 p.m. And laundry and dry cleaning will be pickup and drop off only. Three, they will all have to comply with section 46.1 of the noise regulation and city smartest code of ordinances.

I yield back. Mr. Mayor, Mr. Gold. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Just want to highlight uh one event that happened this past Friday. I serve on the Campbell High School Educational Foundation and uh we support the college and career office. The foundation supports the college and career office and our former council member Kathy Young leads that office and organized a really fantastic college and career day at the high school. The biggest one we've had yet. 80 different vendors so to speak, colleges, local businesses, uh other organizations, city was there, of course, uh talking to about 700 juniors. So, it's really it's an impressive impressive day and uh Kathy pulled off it and pulled off a wonderful event and really appreciate all that she does, but really more importantly just a great number of students and teachers and staff that we have at Campbell High School. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Miss Wilkinson. Um, I want to reiterate the importance of the meeting on Thursday night, the South Cobb Drive improvements, the public in information open house with Georgia Department of um, transportation. Um, this uh, corridor is a I think it's about a onem corridor from um, from Campbell I mean I'm sorry uh, Concord Road to Windy Hill Road. It'll help with the connection of the multi-use trails that are already exist on Concord Road, Windy Hill Road, and and then they'll connect with Atlanta Road for the big a big square. Uh this has been something that's uh been important to me the entire time I've been on the council. Uh I've heard I heard my predecessors talk about the developing the four corners and that would be at those intersections like Junqual Plaza, Belmont Hills, um the the shopping center where Kroger is and also that corner when they invested in buying the property at Smyrna Grove.

What this search can tell you

Coverage is incomplete. This collection tracks 118 meetings. 39 have searchable transcripts and 72 have searchable minutes; a meeting may have both. 10 currently have neither. A missing passage is not evidence that a topic was never discussed.

Speech and summaries stay distinct. Transcript passages preserve the available transcript text. Minutes are labeled as summaries, not spoken quotations. Speaker identities are shown only where the source or documented attribution supports them; an unattributed speaker remains unattributed.

Relevance does not establish a connection. Topic search uses meaning and words to help you locate passages. Read adjacent passages, follow the source and inspect any agenda context before drawing a conclusion about an official’s position or a decision.
