Mayor and Council Meeting

Speaker not identified in source

um athlet athletics. We hope that they're they do as good as the spring did. We had a lot of great spring sports. Um I want to I want to shift gears. I want to make a comment about the flock if that's okay. I'm really really torn on flock. I'm obviously I'm I'm a big proponent proponent of privacy and protecting privacy and I really think everyone up here believes that too. But FA does do good things and I'm going to share a personal story that I haven't shared. I'm willing to share it now because we've gotten some progress in my situation and it was because of flock. So December 23rd I was coming home, got out of my car and I was robbed, assaulted and left for dead. I've had five surgeries reconstruction on my ear and it was flock flock cameras that helped us identify those asylons which was at least three and that happened this past month in July and it was the flock cameras that confirmed it. So, I'm torrent. I think if we use it the right way, which is what we do as a city, we'll be fine. If we do it the wrong way, then trust me, this council, we're going to make sure those who violate your privacy, they're going to be held accountable. I'm sure of that. And with that, I yield back. Mr. My my goal is to put the safeguards in place and we already have that prevent those types of actions, those types of things. So, more more on that to come. Um, we're getting more and more information every day and putting more and more safeguards in every day. Um, I I truly believe we have made our community safer and that your your personal story is compelling and uh there's a lot of stories like that from our law enforcement professionals. Mr. Jones, Mr. Cochran, Miss Heather, anything? Where's our early voting going to be in November? I thank that I thank that congregation for allowing us to do that again. Miss Jill. All right. If there's nothing else to be brought before this body, we will say good night and adjourn from the Jonal City at 7:27.

Special Called Mayor and Council Meeting - Millage Rate Public Hearing #2

Summary in the published minutes, not a verbatim quotation.

A. Public Hearing #2 for the 2026 Millage rate; there will be no vote on this item. Citywide Mike Jones, City Administrator, provided the following background: The FY27 budget approved by Council includes revenue projections for property taxes based on a millage rate of 8.99 mills. This hearing is the second of three required public hearings prior to the formal adoption of the 8.99 millage rate. The City received the 2026 tax digest information from Cobb Cunty on June 18, 2026. Based on that data, the calculated rollback millage rate is 8.834 mills. Rolling back to 8.834 mills allows the City to avoid advertising a tax increase. For comparison, last year’s rollback millage rate was 8.936 mills. What this search can tell you

Coverage is incomplete. This collection tracks 118 meetings. 39 have searchable transcripts and 72 have searchable minutes; a meeting may have both. 10 currently have neither. A missing passage is not evidence that a topic was never discussed.

Speech and summaries stay distinct. Transcript passages preserve the available transcript text. Minutes are labeled as summaries, not spoken quotations. Speaker identities are shown only where the source or documented attribution supports them; an unattributed speaker remains unattributed.

Relevance does not establish a connection. Topic search uses meaning and words to help you locate passages. Read adjacent passages, follow the source and inspect any agenda context before drawing a conclusion about an official’s position or a decision.
