So I think it's very important and I want to encourage uh folks to attend and um give their information about this uh at this meeting. Thank you. Oh, and it's on Thursday at the community center from 400 pm to 7. Thank you. With that, I yield. Thank you, Miss Wilkinson. Mr. Welch, thank you, Mr. Mayor. Uh, real quickly, I want to add to what Susan was saying about the the meeting Thursday night from 4:00 to 7:00 in the community center. What she didn't say was we're trying to get some federal money for this project and we need people to turn out and sign up and look and add comments u to uh support that request for the federal funding. So if you can encourage your friends come out sign up be there. Thank you. I think if I correct we've got somewhere around 27 or 28 million of the 35 or 36 for that massive project. We're closing in on on the totals and to council member Welch's point, it it is an open meeting, so you don't have to be there from 4 to 7. You can pop in, take a look at the drawings, ask a couple of questions, make a comment, and leave. So, it's not a presentation. It's just a drop in. Mr. Lley, can I say something? Oh, Miss Wilkinson, real real quick. Also, this is based on a concept that uh was done back in 2017 and so it's been in the works and I want to encourage people to go. Thank you, Miss Lindley. Miss Hines, my ongoing uh report for the month of March, which is women's history month. Please, please, please look on our social media pages and such. you'll see about our first ever women's history month lunchon that is being uh done and hosted by the city of Smyrna.

Um we want to make sure that we're recognizing some deserving women within our community whether or not you live here and are a citizen or you work in the city of Smyrna. So tomorrow's the last day to nominate someone that you think should be considered as an honore. Um, we're very pleased to be able to say that we have uh one of our historical nominees that was voted on by way of the committee, which is Miss Louise Linley Harper. And uh she was a part of what we called the uh Smyrna Rosies, which is the Rosie Rivers during the uh World War II and the effort that women did during World War II. Um a lot of times it's a very un unsung um uh recognition. So, we want to make sure that we're recognizing um women especially during this uh time. So, if you could please make sure you go on there and then the lunchon's going to be on the 27th at the Reed House and uh please I hope you hope to see you out there and you do not have to be a female just to attend, but you need to be somebody who is supportive of um all of the accolades and the recognition that women do in our community. So, with that, I yield. Thank you. Thank you for all the work you and time and effort you put in. Your dedication to that is and to the like history celebration, everything. You you put a lot into everything. I really appreciate it. Mr. Pickkins, uh, no report this evening. Okay. Mr. Jones, anything else? No, sir. Mr. Cochran? Yes. I just wanted to just make an observation that everybody's seen already, but about everything that's going on at the same time. So, and it all kind of came up in tonight's council meeting.

We've got the Campbell Middle uh school program was going to be the best sports complex in the area. We've got the downtown, the minister for the church that gave us the opportunity to do the downtown, gave the invitation today. We had talk about the brewery and what a great kickoff it had with thousands of people here. We've got engaged citizens that are here at the end of the meeting. We had a festival this weekend. We talked about a major transformative road project. There's just a lot going on in the city that's all good at the same time. And I'm really happy to notice that. Don't forget the aquatics facility and the Emory site and other things. All and what's worth noting is, you know, that those things don't happen. They just don't happen. uh without a lot of work and and that takes a lot of work from our city attorney and he's been involved in all of those meetings whether it was the church or Emery or or whatever it is. He put hundreds and hundreds of hours in on that. So, thank you for that, Scott. For sure. Been good to do all that with you, Miss Heather. Miss Jill, anything? All right. If there's nothing else be brought before this body, we'll say good evening from the Jonqual City at 8:05. Oh, I thought I' set that He couldn't stick around. that for everybody what's going have mercy for her.

Z25-015: Mike Jones, City Administrator, updated the council members. Kimley-Horn was hired by the applicant to perform a traffic study as directed by Mayor and Council at the February 16, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting. The overall level of service looked at no development versus proposed development impact. Regardless of Chick-Fil-A being there or not, South Cobb Drive is a problem. There was a full-access proposed from Chick-Fil-A onto Oakdale Road. That has been removed. In addition to internal stacking, there will be a right-in/right-out to address potential problematic stacking. Existing zoning allows 163 multi-family housing units and 20,000 sq. ft. commercial. Currently, the trip generation number is 1,320 trips per day as it is zoned today. With the proposed development, it reduces it by 12% to 1,156 trips per day. Councilmember Oglesby spoke to a representative from Chick-Fil-A to ask about removing the right-out turn onto Oakdale Road. Russell Martin, Community Development Director, said that the right-out is to get traffic to a protected left hand turn onto South Pre-Council Meeting – Final MAYOR AND COUNCIL Derek Norton, Mayor Tim Gould, Mayor Pro Tem (Ward 6) Glenn Pickens (Ward 1) Latonia P. If that right-out turn is eliminated, then all that traffic goes to an unprotected intersection creating more danger. ORD2026-004: Councilmember Wilkinson asked if tabling this ordinance would be appropriate because she has some questions. Scott Cochran, City Attorney, recommended it would be better to add it to the April 20, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting for a vote, then add it to the April 1, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss prior and give enough time for any modifications.
