Office by City Attorney Scott Cochran and authorize the Mayor to sign and 
execute all related contract documents.

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND:
Mike Jones has previously served as the City Administrator for the City of Smyrna 
from 2015 – 2017 and will replace retired City Administrator Joseph Bennett 
beginning June 2, 2025.
RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION:
Approval of Mike Jones as Interim City Administrator, administer his Oath of 
Office by City Attorney Scott Cochran and authorize the Mayor to sign and 
execute all related contract documents.
