Working closely with the Smyrna Police Department to finalize the race route and 
implement safety measures. The applicant must be prepared to accommodate 
adjustments from Smyrna Police Department both in advance and on the race day. 
(see attached route)
EMS will be present at the start/finish line of the race provided by the Smyrna Fire 
Department
The applicant is responsible for putting out their own cones and road barricades for 
the event
RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION:
Given that the applicant follows all requirements as mentioned above, the staff recommends 
approval of the Special Event Permit for the ‘Be the One: Legion Run 5K’ on Saturday, May 
23, 2026, to include associated road closures.
