RFP 26-016 Consultant for Chattahoochee Riverlands Trail Bridge

ADDENDUM 1 
The contents of this Addendum are fully incorporated into the original RFP. 
 
 
1. Is Smyrna/TPL set on this bridge location (on page 12 of the master plan appendix) at 
Proctor Creek, or are they open to alternatives close to this location but slightly offset 
north or south? What kind of offset options would be considered? (for example, crossing 
options 500 feet downstream of existing plan location, but not north of 285). 
 
The bridge location shown on p. 12 of the master plan appendix is only diagrammatic – 
demonstrating the opportunity to connect Smyrna’s section of the Chattahoochee 
RiverLands to Atlanta’s section of the RiverLands. No technical explorations have been 
conducted. This study will result in a more accurate, realistic, feasible location for this 
proposed crossing. 
 
2. There are two trails on this stretch, which trail are they planning here? (not mentioned in 
the RFP).  
 
The 2020 RiverLands Study proposes greenway trails on both sides of the Chattahoochee 
River.  Since, the trail on the Cobb County side has been constructed downstream from 
the proposed Chattahoochee Crossing Bridge. On the Atlanta side of the river, the City is 
currently engaged in a study to determine the alignment of the RiverLands Trail parallel 
to the river from Peachtree Creek to MLK Jr. Drive. The Proctor Creek Greenway Trail is 
also programmed – and will connect the RiverLands, through Shirley Franklin Park, to 
the Atlanta BeltLine.  
 
3. How much has gone into identifying this crossing location? Is TPL looking for the best 
alternative in this area on the map or is this crossing location set? (This information 
would help us with the requested cost proposal, especially survey which would vary 
widely depending on the chosen alternative).
