On Wednesday, October 29, the Smyrna Youth Council visited Smyrna Fire Station 1 for a special
tour and a series of demonstrations led by Battalion Chief Bower and his crew. During the visit,
members learned about the daily responsibilities of firefighters, the equipment they use, and the
teamwork required to keep the community safe. The crew shared stories from their experiences
and demonstrated how they prepare for various types of emergencies. The visit offered the Youth
Council a deeper appreciation for the dedication and bravery of Smyrna’s first responders, leaving
the group inspired and grateful for the vital work the Smyrna Fire Department performs each day.

SMYRNA YOUTH COUNCIL SPEAKS AT JONQUIL KIWANIS CLUB
On Tuesday, November 4, four members of the Smyrna Youth Council visited the Jonquil City
Kiwanis Club at the Aline Wolf Adult Recreation Center. Each student spoke about a different
aspect of the council’s work, answered questions from club members, and engaged in meaningful
