FIREFIGHTER RECOGNITION DAY
FIRE DEPARTMENT
On Tuesday, February 3, members of
Smyrna Fire Department attended
Firefighter Recognition Day at the Georgia
State Capitol, where they stood alongside
dedicated public safety professionals from
across the state. Governor Brian Kemp and
First Lady Marty Kemp took time to speak
with SFD members and express their
continued support for Georgia’s fire service.
Last week, Smyrna Fire Department conducted its annual live fire/night burn, a training exercise
held at the department’s training yard. Members of Smyrna’s 911 Communications Division
attended and observed the training to practice managing radio traffic during active scenarios.
The dispatchers also had the opportunity to see firsthand what they typically cannot see or hear
while managing emergency calls.
