The Comprehensive Plan is Smyrna’s roadmap for the next
20 years. Updated every five years, the plan combines datadriven analysis, existing conditions, and community input to
guide future growth, redevelopment, transportation,
housing, parks, economic development, and quality of life
across the city. This planning process creates an
opportunity to strengthen Smyrna’s activity centers, major
corridors, and redevelopment areas while supporting
walkable neighborhoods, neighborhood-serving retail, and
vibrant community spaces. Most importantly, the
Comprehensive Plan is shaped by the people who live,
work, worship, and invest in Smyrna. Through public
engagement, residents, employers, employees, and
community organizations help create a shared vision for
the city’s future. Your voice plays an important role in

SMYRNA CITIZENS ACADEMY | SESSION 9
On Tuesday, May 12, the Smyrna Citizens Academy convened for its weekly session, featuring the
Smyrna Police Department and Smyrna Fire Department. The academy learned behind the
scenes details about the departments, received facility tours, and even witnessed live
demonstrations. Thank you to each team member from the Smyrna Police Department and
Smyrna Fire Department for sharing your time and expertise with the group!
