Mayor Derk Norton mentioned all of the events and activities that have happened or 
are upcoming:  
 
• Crafts & Drafts Festival 
• College Football Saturday 
• Halloween Spookyfest 
• Support Smyrna Golf Tournament– raised over $50K 
• Smyrna Public Safety Foundation had an event downtown 
• Council had a mini-retreat 
• Veterans Day Program 
• Election – and one tomorrow for state senator 
• Coming Home for the Holidays – December 2  
 
6.  Proclamations and Presentations 
 
 A. 25-7635 Official Recognition of the Participants in the 2025 Smyrna Safe Business 
Program 
 
Fire Chief Brian Marcos and Emergency Management Specialist Evan McBrayer 
recognized the following:  
  
Motivated by the 2019 S.P. Richards warehouse fire, the Smyrna Fire Department 
partnered with the Cobb Chamber, Smyrna Business Association, and the UGA Carl 
Vinson Institute of Government to offer the first ever Smyrna Safe Business Program. 
The program took eight (8) small business leaders throughout the Smyrna area 
through basic business resiliency practices. Program participants were:  
• Ashli Linkhorn (Sports Chiropractic Institute) 
• Austin Tull )Carter’s Pharmacy) 
• Bernard Brown (Joi Life Wellness) 
• Jahleela Campbell (The Fusion Hair Studio) 
• Lisa Lindsay (FruiTea Bubbles Cafe) 
• Reggy Lee (Be Dance with Ms. Reggy) 
• Sasha Tran (Alinea Chiropractic) 
• Victor Collins (Hounds Town Atlanta-Smyrna) 
 
The group met monthly to focus on a specific portion of the program as well as receive 
online content between sessions. The program concluded with a tabletop exercise for 
the participants to apply what they had learned.    
 
 B. 25-7389 Smyrna Arts Council Artist Recognition for the new exhibit in City Hall and the 
Community Center 
Citywide 
 
Pamela Hayes of the Smyrna Arts Council recognized the new exhibit in City Hall and 
the Community Center:   
 
The exhibit is called ‘Local Perspectives: Abstract Works from Our Community' 
presented by The Smyrna Arts Council, this exhibit celebrates the diversity and 
creativity within our community through bold explorations of color, form, and 
imagination. On display November 7th, 2025, through February 4th, 2026, at the 
Smyrna Community Center and Smyrna City Hall.
