Beautiful are partnering with Keep Cobb
Beautiful and students from Kennesaw State
University on native bee research. The City is
supporting this effort by providing two Smyrna
sites for the study: the Smyrna Community
Garden and the new Pollinator Pocket at River
Line Park.

from the Cobb County Extension
Office led an educational
workshop at the Smyrna
Community Garden. Gardeners
enjoyed a valuable learning
experience, gaining tips and
practical guidance on how to
successfully grow vegetables in
raised garden plots.
GARDEN WORKSHOP WITH COBB COUNTY EXTENSION
On April 10, Keep Smyrna Beautiful
volunteers weeded and transplanted plants
at the Smyrna Recycling Center’s Pollinator
Pocket garden. Now about a year old, the
garden is thriving in the spring weather.
Pollinator Pockets are small, replicable
gardens designed to support the full lifecycle
of native pollinators. From providing nectar
and pollen to offering overwintering habitats,
each Pollinator Pocket serves as a sustainable
ecosystem for a diverse range of wildlife and
plant life.
